2011 Fall Annual Appeal
It's All About Outdoor Education
This Fall, the Appeal funds will go towards the purchase of tents, backpacks, sleeping bags/pads, and tarps, for use by the students for earth studies and wilderness adventures.

These will improve our ability to provide the experiences that develop self-esteem, forge the bonds of authentic group achievements, and they will be more comfortable and capable in the outdoors.
If Rachel Carson is correct in her belief that "It is not half so important to know as to feel when introducing a young child to the natural world," the proper gear allows a person to function, feel, and focus on their broader senses and pursuits. Without it, children struggle and suffer and cannot learn much or have that much fun. With it, the earth has a chance to become the true guide that she is.
